Having a Bouncy castle Party Indoors

Tuesday, February 4th, 2014

Winter is well and truly upon us however there is no need to stop the partying!
Indoor Bouncy castle hire Altrincham
Most of Castles4kids fleet of bouncy castles are suitable for indoor use, the main thing to consider at some venues is room size and the ceiling height.

Older church halls have higher ceilings and as most of our inflatables are a maximum of 13ft high (except the obstacle course) then there should be no worries.

Newer church and village halls do have lower ceiling heights and therefore our 15ft Monkey bounce is ideal.  The Bouncy castle has enough of a footprint to allow plenty of bouncing space but is only 10ft tall. The walls are still high enough for children of up to 1.4m in height.

All size dimensions for our Bouncy castles for hire is available on each of the pages specifically for that product. You will also find additional enlarged images which show much more of the fantastic detail which goes into the manufacture of our Bouncy castle range.

Things to consider when hiring a venue for an indoor Bouncy castle hire party:

  • Ceiling height – Is the room tall enough for your chosen inflatable?
  • Hall width – Is the hall wide enough?
  • Length – You will need to consider the length of the inflatable and also add on 3 ft at the back for the blower and a couple of feet at the front for the safety mats.  Therefore if the inflatable is 14ft long then overall length you require will be nearer to 20ft.
  • Power – Is there 240v power available in the venue
  • Space – After the bouncy castle has been placed onsite, will you have enough space for the tables and chairs, children and any party games you have in mind?
  • Kitchen facilities – Does the room have a kitchen
  • Also ensure you have ample parking available for your guests to be dropped off and picked up afterwards. Most function rooms for bouncy castle hire Stockport have ample parking.

Inflatable safety

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

There are many bouncy castle hire operators about, especially in Altrincham, Cheshire so how are you to know who is ‘Playing by the rules’ and what the rules are?

It is a legal requirement that all Inflatables that are hired to the general public must have an annual safety inspection carried out by an RPII (Register of play inspector international) inspector.  Proof of this annual test should be in the form of an RPII certificate or a PIPA tag on the inflatable and an accompanying PIPA certificate.

If none of these certificates can be shown by the Bouncy castle operator for each individual inflatable then it is highly likely that they have not had their equipment tested and that their Public liability insurance will also be invalid (if they disagree, ask them to check the small print)!

So, when you see a company offering ‘cheap’ inflatables or even any company for that matter, a good question to ask them would be about their annual test policy and ask to see evidence of these tests.  How are you to know that the stitching on the bed of the inflatable will withstand a number of children bouncing on it?  How do you know that the anchor points are suitable that the inflatable will not topple over or even blow away in a gust of wind? These are just a few of the tests that are carried out, its like an MOT for an inflatable.

For these reasons, Castles4kids have these tests carried out annually and we will always provide evidence of the test upon request.  These tests aren’t cheap, however we would rather take an inflatable out of service than take a chance with your child’s safety.

That’s why we are the preferred supplier to many of the local families and schools.

More information on the Inflatable safety schemes can be found here:

PIPA: http://www.pipa.org.uk/

RPII: http://www.playinspectors.com/RPII-Inspectors

Hopefully this will help you make an informed decision on choosing the most suitable supplier of your inflatable.

History of Bouncy castles

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012

Did you know – The first inflatable structure was designed in 1959 by John Scurlock in Shreveport, Louisiana who was experimenting with inflatable covers for tennis courts when he noticed his employees enjoyed jumping on the covers. He was a mechanical engineer and liked physics. John was a pioneer of inflatable domes, inflatable tents, inflatable signs and his greatest achievement was the invention of the safety air cushion that is used by fire and rescue departments to catch people jumping from buildings or heights.

Here at  Bouncy castle hire Altrincham, we can supply all sorts of Inflatable jumping castles for all occasions and events. We even cater for older children and adults with our range of ‘All age Bouncy castles’.
